About Us

It is the trading style of Rhys Johns who is a specialist in these aspects of the law, called in 2005 and with 18 years of experience as a commercial, property and employment law barrister. He is a tenant at Thomas More Chambers in London. He takes Direct Access* instructions from businesses and the public through his SMQ Legal office, clerked by his clerking team in Chambers.

The Direct Access Scheme was introduced in 2004, giving individuals and organisations the ability to directly approach and instruct a barrister directly. This scheme was implemented to make legal services more accessible and cost-effective for clients.

As a Direct Access Barrister, Rhys can provide a range of legal services, including legal advice, drafting legal documents, representing clients in court, and providing advocacy services.

Barristers who accept direct access instructions have additional training and qualifications to ensure they can provide a comprehensive service to clients.
